Playa de las Americas is located on the South West coast of Tenerife, and is a modern purpose-built resort, popular with a young and lively crowd. By day, the main attraction of Playa de las Americas are the three natural beaches in the holiday resort area and three man-made ones, all covered with dark volcanic sand. Numerous smaller coves and bays can be found for those in search of more solitude. A long pedestrian promenade runs the length of the resort and is lined with shops, bars and restaurants.

· Trips to the picturesque village of Masca, the Piramides de Guimar on the east coast and the Teide National Park are all worth a visit during your holiday.
· The port, Puerto Colon, is the departure point for the many tourist boats that ferry holiday makers out to spot the whales and dolphins living in the waters between Tenerife and La Gomera.
· A mini-train runs around the Playa de las Americas and the resort is well served by buses in the area.
· If you fancy brushing up your golf skills during your holiday there is an 18-hole golf course on the way to Los Cristianos and horse and camel riding can be arranged nearby.
· Bungee jumping can be done at the Sky Park and visitors can swim with dolphins at the Aqua Park. |
